•Our school and classrooms provide an open space for the critical and civil exchange of ideas. Some readings and other content in this course will include topics that some students may find disturbing and/or traumatizing. I ask all students to help to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and sensitivity.

•There may be some thoughts or emotions that arise related to the topics discussed in this presentation. If this occurs, you may:

•Request a counselor •Ask for a short break •Write your thoughts and emotions out

The Origin of the Teen Dating Violence or Abuse Laws: Lindsay Ann Burke

•This law requires that all school districts have a dating violence policy, teach about this topic every year in grades 7-12, train school staff in our middle and high schools, and strongly recommends parent training.
